What a testimony!

Have you ever been at Church or work and you just heard a testimony that would make you cry?
Let me tell you, I have heard testimonies on T.V. or in movies that has kept Puffs(tissue) in business. We will hear a story about someone's life and take it for face value. The tears of joy, sorrow, they come pouring. We believe every word they say. We go as far as telling someone the next day what we heard. Why? Was it that powerful? Did it impact your life that much? Was it strong enough to move mountains? We will hear a man's or woman's testimony, and listen. But what about God's testimony? Have you took it at face value?

In 1 John 5:6-11(The Message)
Jesus—the Divine Christ! He experienced a life-giving birth and a death-killing death. Not only birth from the womb, but baptismal birth of his ministry and sacrificial death. And all the while the Spirit is confirming the truth, the reality of God's presence at Jesus' baptism and crucifixion, bringing those occasions alive for us. A triple testimony: the Spirit, the Baptism, the Crucifixion. And the three in perfect agreement.

If we take human testimony at face value, how much more should we be reassured when God gives testimony as he does here, testifying concerning his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God inwardly confirms God's testimony. Whoever refuses to believe in effect calls God a liar, refusing to believe God's own testimony regarding his Son.

This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life.

Look how this starts: Jesus—the Divine Christ!

The testimony starts out Jesus-the all-powerful, almighty, ambrosial, anointed, angelic, beautiful, blissful, celestial, glorious, eternal, exalted, consecrated, deistic, excellent, holy, spiritual, godly, hallowed, heavenly, magnificent, immaculate, mystical, perfect, unearthly, sanctified, splendid, superhuman, supernatural Christ! just to name a few.

This testimony has been told for 2000 years all around the world, in every tongue of every nation, but we don't take it at face value. We will listen to bro. somebody or sis. somebody else
but what about the testimony God has giving us. It's not like so many, I did this wrong or this and now I am free of that. God's testimony is how you got free from that. The Spirit, the Baptism, and the Crucifixion. that is the testimony. This should be your testimony.

We should take up our cross and follow him. We should tell God's testimony. "Whoever believes in the Son of God inwardly confirms God's testimony. Whoever refuses to believe in effect calls God a liar, refusing to believe God's own testimony regarding his Son." Don't you think that is a little more powerful then when I quit that? Human testimony is a good way to share the Word, but maybe we should finish our testimony with God's testimony. Because without it, we would not have one.

I close with the end of the scripture: "This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life."
I think that is a good way sum up this.
